Code of Ethics
Effective Date: 3/28/25

At Awaken Your Purpose, I am committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in life coaching. My mission is to empower clients with clarity, confidence, and purpose while upholding integrity, professionalism, and respect.

1. Client Well-Being & Integrity

-
I prioritize my clients’ best interests, goals, and well-being at all times.
-
I provide honest, unbiased guidance and do not manipulate or pressure clients into decisions.
-
I maintain strict confidentiality and protect all personal and sensitive information shared in coaching sessions, except in cases where disclosure is legally required (e.g., risk of harm to self or others).

2. Professional Boundaries

-
I respect the personal autonomy of my clients and never impose my beliefs, values, or decisions upon them.
-
I never engage in romantic, financial, or personal relationships that could compromise objectivity, trust, or professionalism.
-
I clearly define the scope of my coaching and refer clients to licensed professionals when necessary (e.g., therapy, medical, legal, or financial matters).

3. Honesty & Transparency

-
I provide clear, truthful representation of my coaching services, credentials, pricing, and policies.
-
I set realistic expectations and do not make false promises regarding client outcomes.
-
I communicate openly about my coaching methods, processes, and limitations.

4. Commitment to Professionalism
-
I continuously strive for self-improvement by engaging in professional development, learning, and ethical practices.
-
I uphold fair, transparent business policies, including honoring commitments, respecting payment agreements, and maintaining accurate records.
-
I respect cultural, religious, and personal differences, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive coaching environment for both Christians and non-believers.

5. Client Responsibility & Empowerment

-
I empower my clients to take personal responsibility for their actions, decisions, and growth.
-
I encourage self-awareness, self-reflection, and accountability to help clients unlock their full potential.
-
I recognize that coaching is a collaborative process and do not position myself as the sole authority in my clients’ journey.

6. Ethical Business Practices

-
I do not engage in fraudulent, misleading, or exploitative business practices.
-
I honor agreements, contracts, and ethical payment policies, ensuring fairness in all financial transactions.
-
I maintain a professional and respectful online presence, upholding the values of integrity and authenticity in all digital communications.

7. Right to Refuse or Terminate Coaching

I reserve the right to terminate coaching services under the following conditions:

-
Repeated Cancellations or No-Shows – If a client frequently cancels, reschedules, or does not show up for sessions, it disrupts the coaching process and prevents meaningful progress.
-
A "No-Show Appointment" occurs when a client fails to attend their scheduled coaching session without prior notice or arrives more than 10 minutes past the scheduled appointment time without communication (email/call/text). In such cases, the session will be considered forfeited, and refunds or rescheduling may not be available in accordance with the cancellation policy.
-

-
Lack of Engagement or Commitment – Coaching is a collaborative effort. If a client is consistently unresponsive, unwilling to participate, or fails to implement action steps, coaching may not be beneficial.

-
Inappropriate, Disrespectful, or Unprofessional Behavior – Any form of harassment, offensive language, or disrespect toward the coach or other clients will result in immediate termination.

-
Coaching Needs Exceed My Scope of Practice – If it becomes evident that a client requires therapy, medical intervention, or legal/financial counseling beyond life coaching, I may refer them to a more appropriate professional and terminate the coaching relationship.

-
Violation of Agreement Terms – If a client fails to adhere to agreed-upon policies, payment terms, or ethical standards, I reserve the right to discontinue services.

-
Misrepresentation or Dishonesty – If a client provides false information or engages in deceptive practices that compromise the integrity of the coaching relationship, services may be terminated.

-
Threats to Personal Safety – If a client displays behavior that poses a risk to my safety or well-being, services will be immediately terminated, and necessary legal actions may be taken if required.

If I initiate termination, a prorated refund may be considered based on unused sessions, except in cases involving misconduct or policy violations.
